The Botanic Garden at Oklahoma State University is called one of Stillwater's "Best Kept Secrets". Even long-time local residents often are unaware of the 100 acres of gardens, arboretums, nature areas, and low-impact development demonstrations that are free to access dawn to dusk, every day of the year. In order to reach the goals of the garden's master plan, the garden is fundraising using benches, trees, and bricks. Bricks can be 'bought' for $100; they are engraved with the donor's choice of names or sayings, and then they are laid in the brick walkway that runs down the center of the theme gardens (landscape contracting students in our department made the walk). The bricks have only been available for a couple of years, and there are many available bricks for 'adoption'.
