This sculpture by Charters de Almeida called Cidades Imaginárias (Imaginary Cities) was initialy placed in Ribeira das Naus park near the Tagus River in 1993.
Later, due to the metro expansion to the Terreiro do Paço (Praça do Império Square) and Santa Apolónia the area around the square went into major requalification works and the sculpture was removed (the sculpture can still be seen in google maps at is old location as well as the works chantier but they were both removed).
In 2012 it was moved into the Alameda da Cidade Universitária (Alameda of the Universitary City) and it was recently reassembled at this location where signs of the assembling works can still be seen like the lack of grass.
