Red Ledge Picnic Area is located 7 miles up Diamond Fork Canyon from Highway 6 in Spanish Fork Canyon. It is a popular location for picnicking, and rappelling. Local climbers can be found here almost any day, especially on the weekends.
From the parking lot, there are two standard rappels on the left. You can approach them from the back side. It seems to be a little safer than climbing from the front. There is a lower rappel with an overhang that has a nasty start, and just above there, 30 or 40 feet up on the same cliff band, is a longer and more straight forward rappel. Both are bolted.
Also from the parking lot you will see Diamond Fork Arch, to the right, that looks kind of like a flying buttress. Immediately to the left of that is a long rappel that is free hanging for the last half. You climb to the top from the left of the arch via a pretty well-worn trail. Finally, from the parking lot, if you hike straight up the draw, on the cliffs on the right looking up, you will see an old Aztec Sun carved in to the rock. There is an easy rappel from a tree above that for beginners.
You may want to get there early. It can get crowded. Have fun, be safe.
Daimond Fork campground is just two miles down the canyon from the climbing site if you plan an extended stay.
