Ron Paul, Republican Presidential candidate, stopped in Oklahoma City today to speak at a free rally in his support. The rally was held on the south side of the state capitol, in the Capitol Plaza. Approximately 1300 enthusiastic supporters were in attendance during a very windy Oklahoma day.
The rally began at noon, with Paul speaking at 1:00 then leaving to appear in Michigan tonight at 6:00.
Some of the things Ron Paul spoke about at the rally were the growth of big government, the tax rate, repealing the Federal Reserve Act, and the 16th Amendment. OK State Representative Mike Christian and Senator Shorty spoke at the rally before Ron Paul appeared, riling up the supporters with talk about Obama Care, airport pat-downs, and the Patriot Act.
Coverage of the event was nationwide because it's a presidential campaign. Many local news stations and newspaper reporters were present to cover the event.
