The Alder Amphitheater is located directly west of the Student Center. It is an open air theater that can seat approximatly 1,000. The theater has been used for concerts, plays, dances or parties. The top of the aphitheater is at about ground level, so it would be easy to miss it if you didn't know it was there. It is oreinted so that the audience is looking northeast, so there should never be sun in the eyes of the audience.
Jack Alder, owner of Alder Construction Company, donated and constructed SLCC's Alder Amphitheater. Alder construction has built numerous schools and public buildings in the Intermountain West. Named an honorary alumnus in 1994, Jack Alder served on the SLCC Foundation Board of Trustees.
