"The Rockford Elk's Lodge was built as a meeting space and social hall for the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) Lodge number 64 in 1912. The building, designed by Chicago architect Lawrence Buck, exhibits Classical Revival styling with a strong Prairie Style influence. The social club is located in an area known as Rockford's Cultural Corridor, a stretch of central business district rich with museums, music and art venues. The wide variety of architectural styles found in the immediate area is reflective of evolution of commercial architecture in downtown Rockford in the early twentieth century. The Rockford Elk's Lodge is an important piece of that evolution." - National Register Nomination Form
The building is currently vacant. The former lodge building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
