The numerous phenomena that have occurred at the airfield including a mysterious mist that has been seen by several people.
The mist seems to just suddenly appear and equally as quickly disappear and has been described as being so dense that you couldn't see through it. One person experienced it late at night as he walked down the runway. At the time he was not alone, with his companions remaining in the car they had arrived in. As he walked down the runway he was about six metres from the car when the occupants saw the mist which seemed to be following him then it engulfed him. The victim found that he could not see through the mist to the car nor could be hear his companions calling out to him. He tried to walk back to the car and as he did so the mist vanished. In another incidence two cars were travelling along the runway and were some distance apart when the rear car saw the mist following the lead car for a few seconds then it vanished.

People who have visited the airfield also report hearing the sound of aircraft engines and even Morse code.

Even a strange smell has occurred, in this case the unmistakable smell of bubblegum, a remnant of the US forces stationed there?

There is a rumour that a load of abandoned vehicles are buried in a underground chamber left by the USAAF.
President Eisenhower flew into this base and his private plane was kept here and also Glenn Miller,Jimmy Stewart,Bobe Hope to name a few
passed through it has been used for several War films as well.633 Squadron,Battle of Britain etc.,
