"Em 1595 a Confraria da Misericórdia é fundada na vila, acontecimento que promove a edificação do primeiro templo, reconstruido totalmente em 1710. A igreja apresenta-se com uma planta de tipo longitudinal, com portal axial e frontal ricamente decorado, em estilo barroco, apesar de alguns elentos, como o púpito e coro, serem já neoclássicos.
O cruzeiro, localizado no largo anexo á fachada posterior, área do antigo cemitério, é um exemplar do século XVIII composto de dois degraus, base decorada e capitel com representações da vida de Cristo, rematado em cruz."

"The Foundation of the Misericórdia brotherhood in 1595, in the village, promoted the building of the first temple, completely rebuilt in 1710. The church has a longitudinal desin, whith an axial and frontal doorway richly decorated in baroque style, although some elements, namely the pulpit and the choir, are neoclassical.
Situated in the square benhind the superior façade whhere the old cemetery used to be, the cross is typical of the 18th century used to be, the cross is typical of the 18th century, it has two steps, a decorated base and a capital with representations os Crist´s life with a cross at its top."
