This wooden carving of Seaman the dog and his master, Captain Lewis, is poised next to a Lewis and Clark historical marker. A Lewis and Clark marker and wood carvings to commemorate the Corps of Discovery. The location is near the wanderings of Private George Shannon. The marker discusses an evening pass to celebrate with the citizens of St. Charles and the subsequent discipline for some members being AWOL for a night and receiving lashes.
