The mural depict various scenes from Martinez's history. They show the pony express and John Muir, as well as the fishing industry. The mural was controversial with the addition of beavers by the artist. The city demanded the beavers removed because of the pain the creek dwelling critters caused the city. The artist removed them along with his name (though it seems that there is a name painted on the mural.)
