The Station is unmanned & access to the building is boarded off. However Countrylink's Xplorer Train which links Canberra to Sydney stops at the station twice a day, morning & afternoon.
Tarago Railway Station is 260 Kms from Sydney & was opened on 3 January 1884. A heritage listed brick building it is well maintained with a new steel roof & a recent coat of paint.
The only freight service that passes the station is a train that transports Sydney's waste to the nearby former Woodlawn Mine.
