Nagelfluhfelsen in the mountain Kalvarien.
Several Nagelfluhfelsen lie above the footpath along the mountain Kalvarien, partially they own physical bridges and small Auswitterungshöhlen.
The footpath of the Isar steep path to the city centre leads few metres after the fork on the mountain Kalvarien in slope scribings. Here concrete-like rocks with small cave educations step by days. They belong to several metres of mighty rock stratum which is called cover grit.
Cover grits seem in the foothills of the Alps in many places. In the mountain Kalvarien they exist for the most part of Kalkgeröllen which come from the neighbouring Alpine north edge. They were spent by glacier and their melt water to her today's deposition place. The at first loose stone depositions harden by decomposition processes to hard rock.
Such rocks were used earlier under the name [XXX] with pleasure than work stone. More exact consideration of the Nagelfluhfelsens in the board location shows that he is built up from different big, circular Kalkgeröllen. They are by her thick, bright, calcareous basic mass with each other verbacken. It seem predominantly stone of 1 centimetre of diameter and smaller. In the cover grit tape-like accumulations with substantially bigger rock components appear as isolated.
The cover grits in the mountain Kalvarien lie about substantially older rock depositions ("Molassengesteine") which were formed in a sea which was here before [YYY] millions years.
Molassengesteine are unlocked in diesseitigen Steilufer of the Isar below with the former Isar ferry as a blue-green rock association well obviously. The footpath of the Isar goes up in the crossing of both rock unities. Unfortunately, he is recognizable because of the slope covering and the thick growth only indistinctly.
