Located in the highest part of the historic center of Alverca, the church was built in the 15th century as the date (1687) above the door shows.
The church was builtin in the 15th century with three naves. His altarpiece, paintings and plaster ceiling are from the 18th century, except for a 17th century tile work with scenes from the life of St. Peter, specially the Liberation of St. Peter by the angel.
The Church tower has 3 bells but can hold up to 4 large bells.
