Located on West Liberty Street just west of Route 534 in Geneva, Ohio its 18' span carries traffic across Cowles Creek. Completed in 2011 it became known as the Liberty Bridge and it is the shortest covered bridge in the United States. Interestingly it is located in Ashtabula County which is also the home of the longest covered bridge in the US. The estimated cost was $400,000 which was about the same as the cost of replacing the existing culvert pipe with a new one. Money was also saved through donated lumber and construction by a nearby vocational school. Also at the site they constructed a small toll booth similar to what covered bridges had during pioneer days.
