These murals are dedicated to Mr Lew Roberts
Mr Lew Roberts had a 31 year association with Broken Hill and the Silverton Tramway Company succeding to General Manager in 1952.
The mural is a set of two put on the wall of the main railway station in town, they are approxiamately 3m by 3m each. Both pictures give the impression of a steam locomotive coming out of a dark tunnel and breaking through the wall.
Locomotive 2880 shows a front on view with its headlight on and plenty of steam around around the black engine, Locomotive 2004 is a dark brown engine with more of a side on view, both murals show outstanding detail and well worth a visit
Whether you travel by road or train (train stops here for a hour so a whistle stop tour of the area can allow visits and ample opportunity to see this mural) it is easily spotted and easy parking nearby
