This marker for the
125th Ohio Volunteer Infantry (or 125thh OVI) is in recognition of their service during the
Battle of Chickamauga, fought September 19–20, 1863. It marker the position of the 125th from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on September 19, 1863. This is one of three markers to the 125th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment on the battlefield. The 125th Ohio Volunteer Infantry was organized at Camp Taylor, Cleveland, Ohio and mustered into Federal service on October 6, 1862.

A 1'6" x 1'6" x 3' high granite obelisk with a raised letter inscription. Marks unit's position northeast of Viniard House on September 19, 1863, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
