This is a life-sized piece of George A. Crawford. He is dressed in 1880 business attire of a long coat, trousers, boots and thick facial hair. He stands on a plinth of polished granite and looks down on the viewer. He stands in front of the Grand Junction City Hall. The plaque reads:

Artist: Mark Carl Wahlberg
George Addison Crawford (1827 - 1891) headed the
Grand Junction Town Company. He located, platted,
and named the city; developed the first irrigation
supply; established homes, business, and the first
hotel; and plated shade trees throughout the town. A
skilled entrepreneur, he also founded Delta,
Colorado, and three cities in Kansas.
