Taking advantage of the stay of Nicolau Nasoni in Lamego, the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Remedies commissioned him to build a fountain, which was to replace another unusable one, that existed next to the old chapel of Santo Estevão.

According to the patent inscription in one of the cartouches, the new fountain of Remedies was completed in 1738, before construction of the church of Our Lady of Remedies, in the second half of the eighteenth century replaced the Santo Estevão.

The fountain consists of a cup of curved lines, based on three steps. The rest of the architecture suggests similarities with other works designed by Nasoni.
