The history of the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição is closely linked to the history of Misericórdia de Murça, reflecting the troubled path that this organization has known since the seventeenth century, among which stands out the long interregnum of their regular activities, between the middle eighteenth century and the beginning of the century to the nineteenth century.

It is not known the year of the founding of the Misericórdia, but the portal of the chapel is dated 1692, which makes their institution back to an earlier era.

The portal, of straight lines, is flanked by pilasters and two pairs of twisted columns carved with vines and birds, joined by a frieze of geometric patterns, which support the pediment of fins.
