Cathedral Rock is one of the most photographed places in Arizona. From the south, at Red Rock crossing, with Oak Creek in the foreground, it serves as an iconic image of Sedona. Cathedral Rock is also the site of one of several vortexes (spinning currents of metaphysical energy emanating from the Earth) in the Sedona area. A trek to the top will be grueling and you will eventually be stopped by sheer sandstone cliffs.
