Sunnyside's Post Office was established July 16, 1914 and discontinued March 15, 1934. The town site was established in the late 1890's by Samuel Donnelly. Economic down turns caused the town to close in 1903. The town was reopened a few years later as a ranching community.
Donnelly started the town to support the nearby Copper Glance Mine and to practice his religious teachings.
Sunnyside can be reached by traveling South from Sonoita, Arizona on Highway 83. The road is paved until you reach Parker Canyon Lake. Continue South until you reach the intersection of Hwy 83 and Sunnyside road. The last few miles will take a high profile vehicle. Sunnyside is now located on U.S. Forest land.
A graveyard is located South West of the town site at N 31 25' 32.20" W 110 24' 32.90".
