The provincial museum for the city and province of Kamphaeng Phet, in central Thailand, is found to the north of the city, adjacent to the entrance to the Historical Park. Standing guard on the approach to the museum entrance is this ancient lion, an archaeological artefact from the park. From the plaque (in gallery) the lion dates from the 17th-18th centuries, in the Ayutthaya period of Thai history. The lion looks imposing, and regal. Say hello as you walk past to the museum.
