A Strange Procession Hastens Eastward - # 10 Sign/Marker John Hunt Morgan Heritage Trail 1863 in Indiana: Scenic overlook of Scott County Area, General Morgan and his troops passed this location on the afternoon of July 10, 1863. The temperature was in the 90's and Morgan's men were loaded down with their stolen booty, including "bolts of calico cloth, sleigh bells, ice skates and birdcage with three canaries" as they continued eastward into Leota and on to Vienna, before camping for the night in Lexington.
