The Supreme Court of Canada - Ottawa, Ontario - Picture Perfect Postcards on Waymarking.com

I took a photo of the Supreme Court of Canada building on January 10, 2012 at 2:15 pm on an overcast day in Ottawa, Ontario. I stood in front and to the left (West) of the building as trees have grown since the photo for the postcard was taken and it was the best vantage point available. I was able to obtain a photo that very closely resembles that of the photo on the postcard.

I have not been able to confirm when the photo on the postcard was taken. In so far as the construction of the the Supreme Court of Canada building itself, it was started in 1939 and the Court began hearing cases in 1946. Two statues titled: Veritas (Truth) and Justicia (Justice) were installed in front of the building in 1970. On the postcard photo, the statues are not there. By all indications, the postcard photo appears to have been taken shortly after the Supreme Court of Canada building was completed.
