The marker is next to another marker about the same subject. This one is on the right. It can be found at the visitor center parking lot, north side, in the grass, bordering the concrete sidewalk. The interpretive reads:

Raptor Count at Washington Monument State Park

During fall migration look for these commonly seen raptors
(beneath this are 6 illustrations of raptors)

Hawk watchers at Washington Monument keep count of the number of individual birds they spot. About 14 different species are spotted each year. Tell us what you saw!

The fall season runs from early September to late November. The spring migration, which is not as spectacular, begins about early march and ends in early to mid-May.

Beneath this, and making up most of the interpretive, is a table which includes 15 different types of birds including Osprey, Bald Eagle, Northern Harrier, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, Northern Goshawk, Red-shouldered Hawk, Broad-winged Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk, Rough-legged Hawk, Golden Eagle, American Kestrel, Merlin, Peregrine Falcon& anything classified as unknown. There is a column for daily counts, some other columns for pertinent data and the two end columns are for Totals for last fall and Totals for last spring. There is also a column for recent highlights where I imagine non-quantified information can be added as a narrative.
