The House -
the Casa Estúdio José Relvas has two floors, with an iron structure, decorated according to the romantic tendencies of the time, which give it a certain monumentality.
At the sight, the building seems to have taken as a model Christian church, with its three naves and the transept to the bottom, resulting from the combination between the glass and iron, and transparency and elegance of the architecture, a religious effect, almost magical.
The Person -
Carlos Relvas was born in the Palace of Outeiro, in the middle of the village Golegã in November 1838, death on January 23, 1894.
He is a central figure in the history of Portuguese photography, with a work recognized and awarded internationally.
