The facade & shop are in very good condition. The store was built by Albert Thurlow who was born in 1879 & was accidently killed in 1915 whilst working on a building in Tenterfield.
The store has sold shoes for over 90 years & remained in the Mitchell family until 2004 when it was sold. The Tenterfield Star (local newspaper) wrote a feature on the last member of the Mitchell family who ran the store & the family business in 2004 & this the link (
