Now known as the 7/7 Terrorist attacks, four suicide bombers set off a coordinated attack of bombs in London on July 7, 2005...three in the Underground and one on a bus killing 26 people.

"At 08:56 BST a bomb detonated on a Piccadilly Line train between King's Cross and Russell Square. Twenty-one are dead; it is believed more bodies remain in the tunnel, which is one of the deepest on the Underground network."
Five minutes earlier, another bomb went off on the Circle Line near Liverpool Street. At 9:17, another bomb exploded on the Circle Line train between Edgware Road Station and Paddington. Thirty minutes later a bus was bombed.
