On the south side of Dobson Field, the campus baseball diamond, a wood slatted bench stands on a semi-circular concrete slab, with a two-post wood canopy above.

A bronze plaque is imbedded in the concrete base in front of the bench and reads:

For Tom and Kay (Sanders) Heinen,
who first walked this path, then life's
path together for fifty years until he
led the way to heaven in 2008

Tom Heinen was a 1963 graduate of Oklahoma Christian University. He attended on a track scholarship. He died in a motorcycle accident in 2008. He and Kay were residents of the Oologah/Talala, OK area. To view details of his interesting life, read his obituary Tom Heinen
