This plaque marks the location of the first church, a United Church, that was here from 1927 to 1995 in Barrhead, Alberta.

In 1927, the year that the town of Barrhead was incorporated, the United Church was opened in this location. Now Memorial Park, the church was the first church to locate in the community.
Memorial Park is now found on the site. The church has been replaced by a multi-war memorial and an artillery gun. In addition to a tree planted in commemoration by the Air Cadets to mark 100 years of flight in Canada.
