I find it very interesting that this particular memorial to the U.S. soldiers and P.O.W.'s/MIA's (as seen in the stone of the memorial) is really all you have to create a description in your mind. Sometimes words aren't needed. It speaks a thousand words all by itself. Preble county is home to soldiers from all of the American wars, including American Revolution, Civil War and WWI and II and the rest.

No inscription on the monument itself. NOTE: All Preble County soldiers/P.O.W.'s/MIA's from previous wars each received a "brick" with their name/rank/War, etc. These were placed on the walkway surrounding the memorial as seen in the photograph.

Description of Memorial:
This memorial is located in front of the Preble County courthouse. I was waymarking a different category when I came across this memorial. Since it has only been a couple of years since it was dedicated it still looks like new. The surrounding area including the courthouse was still decorated for the Christmas holiday. It makes me very sad that so many soldiers did not come home this year; especially for Christmas.
