The building was constructed in 1892 and was the management office of the Surrey Docks. The docks were initially constructed in the late 17th, early 18th century. The building was constructed after the merger of the various dock companies into the the Surrey Commercial Dock Company in 1864. It is now the home of Blake Hall College.
