Marty retired from Sacramento Co. Public Works. He was the county Tree Coordinator, charged with protecting valley oak trees under county ordinance. Developers are required to replace any trees that are necessarily removed, by permit, or by penalty.

He was a landscape architect and conservationist.
There are now companion clover leaf groves to the north of the river at La Riviera. They are dedicated to folks he worked with.
Location of the tree: a traffic clover leaf near one of the major streets (Watt Av)

Type of tree: Oak trees to replace the giants that have been removed or fallen.
