This part of the parkway is the take out for many rafters, kayakers.
There is a bicycle bridge over the river to the north side.
Out of towners should be wary of possible rattlesnakes, cougar that follow the deer, varying water flows and snow melt temperature.
There are several miles of paved asphalt to various areas. Parking nearest the raft site is for 100 vehicles. Dogs are required to be leashed. There are cables along the road to prevent children or bicyclists from coming onto the road just anywhere. There are flush toilets. HC accessible picnic area. Several overflow parkings areas for 12 or less vehicles. The park is characterized by large valley oak trees.
