This new depot stands on the site of the original depot that was built by the Tacoma Eastern in 1904.

Today the depot is the point of embarkation for heritage steam train rides south to Mineral and return. The depot serves as a gift and snack shop, as well as selling tickets for train rides, including rides in the cab of the steam locomotive.
