In Boston, there is a new strip of green parks collectively known as the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway. The web site for the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservatory divides the greenway into several parks. This one is the Fort Point Channel Park, which stretches along Atlantic Avenue and extends between Congress Street and Oliver Street.
The two parks in this section of the greenway are focused on floral gardens. There is a kiosk at the park that points out the key features of the park. One location has Chinese and tree peonies. Another location has Canada Serviceberry Trees. A third location has Yoshino Cherry Trees. Throughout the parks there are flowers that have been planted by the Massachusetts Horticultural Society.
The parks were created in 2008 as the final part of Boston's 'Big Dig,' which resulted in lowering I-93 from an elevated to an underground highway (among other projects) through the central portion of the city.
