In Boston, along the new Rose Kennedy Walkway, is a sculpture display that has the title, Harbor Fog. This sculpture has an interactive component that lights up and changes intensity while someone is nearby to observe it.
The sculpture is within a teadrop-shaped island where the park path widens and becomes braided. There are three 'towers' arranged in a line. Each tower has a series of three dimensional shapes, with open areas that are covered with a coarse screen. Inside are light or heat elements. When a person approaches a tower, the light elements increase in intensity.
The web site has pictures on it that show the sculpture also produces a mist - likely done during the summer, as it wasn't observed at the time of this visit in October.
