This caboose was built in 1942 as (Union Pacific) UP 3754. It became UP 25054 when the UP went to 5 digit caboose numbers in 1959.
The Kirk Family wanted a Burlington Northern Caboose so they used this color scheme. Some opposed this (visit link)
