The Swiss museum of sport has one of the largest and most significant sport collections in Europe. It contains over 10,000 objects, e.g. equipment (balls, bikes, skis...), dresses, trophies.
The photograph collection has over 81,000 items, the inheritance of some important sport photographers included.
And there are thousands of other documents as books, posters or stamps.
The museum has moved to a new, larger location in September 2011. Before there was only limited access to the collection once a month. Now there are regular opening hours with full access to the whole collection. Entrance fee is whatever you like to pay.
There are also many activities outside of the museum. They organize many exhibitions at other locations, e.g. during major sport or cultural events, over 90% of the visits are of this type.
