(PT) O jardim Pênsil ou de Neptuno foi construído sobre um reservatório de água, peça central do sistema de captação e distribuição de águas da Real Quinta de Queluz, pensado por Manuel da Maia.
No eixo central deste jardim situam-se os dois lagos mais imponentes: o Lago de Neptuno e o Lago de Nereida.
O lago de Neptuno, apresenta um notável conjunto escultórico atribuído a John Cheere (1709-1787) que já é referido nos inventários de 1763 e 1798.
Este lago está rodeado por esculturas representando três das Quatro Estações, de John Cheere (a Primavera, o Verão e o Outono) e, ainda, dois notáveis grupos escultóricos representado Meleagro, Atlante, Vertumno e Pomona (Cheere, 1756).

(ENG) The Pênsil garden or Neptune was built on a water reservoir, the centerpiece of the system of water abstraction and distribution of Real Quinta de Queluz, designed by Manuel da Maia.
In the central axis of the garden there are the two most impressive lakes: Nereida Lake and Neptune Lake.
The Neptune Lake, has a remarkable collection of sculptures attributed to John Cheere (1709-1787) which is already mentioned in the inventories of 1763 and 1798.
This lake is surrounded by sculptures representing three of the Four Seasons, John Cheere (spring, summer and autumn), and also two notable sculptural groups represented Meleager, Atlantic, Vertumnus and Pomona (Cheer, 1756).
