Outdoor Amphitheater at the Champalimaud Foundation in Lisbon.
This is probably the most recent Outdoor Amphitheater in Lisbon (The foundation was ianugurated only 13 months ago) and one of the most pleasant because it´s located facing the Tagus River.
The Champalimaud Foundation houses the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown, a research institute based in Lisbon focused in biomedical science particularly in the fields of cancer research and neuroscience.
The Champalimaud Foundation features diagnostic and treatment units for cancer patients on the lower floors and research labs above, aimed at research on cancer and neuroscience. It supports individual researchers and research teams working at the cutting edge of biomedical science. It aims to stimulate novel theoretical and practical methodologies by utilising the experience of both research scientists and medical practitioners.
On it´s Board of Directors, General Council, Scientific Committee and investigators are some of the most renown personalities from all around the world including several Nobel prizes and other awarded personalities. For more information (

The Amphitheater is quite simple. It has on semi-circular stage and 8 rows of seats with a capacity of around 500 people, suported by a small bar.
The auditorim was placed at the city´s disposition and it´s intended for live music and other artistic shows or scientific sessions.
