The postbox is currently unused as it is within the scaffolding protecting Howard House. The slot is sealed off and it has a rather battered appearance. There are no details of collection times. No details of maker or origin are visible.

king Street is one of the oldest and most historic thoroughfares in Norwich. There are many interesting buildings along it's length before it ends just before the Anglican cathedral. Howard House, No 97, takes it's name from Henry Howard. He was the brother of the Duke of Norfolk. The name first occurs in 1663 although the house may have been built in the early 16th century on the site of an earlier building. It is currently shrouded in protective scaffolding and is on the norwich 'At risk' register.
