Welcome to Elwood, Indiana - The Heart of Hoosierland. This welcome sign is located at the junction of State routes 37 and 28 at a very busy gas station. The McDonalds across the street is also a very busy place. Elwood, Indiana has a long history although time has taken its toll on this towns' former greatness. Elwood was the home of Presidential candidate Wendell Willkie, Olympian Mary Beth Dunnichay, and one of my favorite ketchup companies - Red Gold Tomato.
