One of the joys of Waymarking is discovering small parks tucked in urban areas. One such park in Montgomery is Thunderbird Park. According to a city web page it is a quarter of an acre in size. The park was named in honor of the Thunderbirds, also known as the United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron. One can find more information about the Thunderbirds at (

At one time there was a static display of an Air Force aircraft painted in Thunderbird colors. It was removed about the time major road work was begun in the area. The area can still provide one with space to pause and reflect.
