One of 48 200-man camps built the the US Army, this CCC Camp built diverstions to carry overflow from creeks into the north side of Lake Andes and channels to drain its overflow into the Missouri River. Later, the camp was used to develop a water fowl refuge, now known as the Lake Andes National Wildlife Refuge.
