Ashville Cemetery is a large cemetery set on the side of a hill located on SR 23 just west of downtown Ashville. According to findagrave.com there are 278 graves. I think 500 would be a better number. Death dates begin in the mid-1800s. the cemetery is still in use. The entrance road passes uder a free-standing arch.
Howard Hill, considered the greatest archer of all times, is buried in Ashville Cemetery.
