The Agawam Veterans Memorial is an octagonal brick structure, topped with a cupola and a bell, there is a dedication plaque honoring all Agawam veterans and especially those whose names are listed on three plaques, elsewhere on the octagonal structure, that died in war.

The dedication plaque is inscribed:

"A nation reveals itself not only by the men it
produces, but also by the men it honors and the men it
remembers .........
                            President John F. Kennedy

Dedicated this 27th Day of May 1989

IN HONOR OF ALL AGAWAM VETERANS WHO SERVED
THEIR COUNTRY IN TIME OF NEED AND ESPECIALLY
THOSE VETERANS WHOSE NAMES ARE LISTED HEREON
WHO SACRIFICED THEIR TOMORROWS FOR OUR TODAY.

Description of Memorial:
The brick octagoal structure is a replica of the bell tower of the former Danahy Elementary School and there is a related plaque on one side of the octagon. On 4 sides there are veteran memorial plaques: Dedication Civil War World War I - Korean - Vietnam World War II The other three sides are empty.
