A estação de Vilela do Tâmega era uma das estações da Linha do Corgo mas com o fim da linha ficou ao abandono, estado em que ainda hoje está.

A Linha do Corgo é uma linha de caminho-de-ferro desactivada, que unia as localidades de Chaves e Régua, em Portugal; foi inaugurada em 1 de Abril de 1910, com a chegada do comboio a Vila Real, e concluída a 28 de Agosto de 1921, com a chegada a Chaves.
Após um avultado investimento na via, o Estado decidiu encerrar o troço Vila Real - Chaves em 1 de Janeiro de 1990.
O troço restante, entre a Régua e Vila Real, foi encerrado pela operadora Rede Ferroviária Nacional a 25 de Março de 2009.

The station of Vilela do Tâmega was one of the Corgo Line stations but with the end of the line it was abandoned, state that it stil is today.

The Corgo Line is a line of railway, iron, disabled, which linked the towns of Chaves and Régua in Portugal, was inaugurated on April 1, 1910, with the arrival of the train to Vila Real, and completed 28 August 1921 with the arrival of Chaves.
After a major investment in the track, the state decided to close the section Vila Real - Chaves in January 1, 1990.
The other section, between the Régua and Vila Real, was closed by the operator National Network Rail March 25, 2009.
