On the southeast side of Anadarko, is a complex of buildings which comprise the headquarters of the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, also known as the Plains Apache.
In front of the Administration building is this gray granite monument to war veterans of the Apache Tribe. The granite slab stands on a rough-hewn horizontal granite base. The monument is inscribed:
APACHE TRIBE VETERANS ASSOCIATION
MEMBERS
DEDICATED NOV. 11, 1992
Beneath this are 104 names of veterans in this association. Oklahoma recognizes veterans of the Apache Tribe with a special license plate, as shown here Apache Veteran Tag
