Sandia Crest Overlook, NM - Scenic Roadside Look-Outs on Waymarking.com

This overlook is located at the end of the Sandia Crest Byway, advertised on the America's Byways website as the " the highest scenic drive in the southwest." The overlook is accessed via a journey of about 14 miles on New Mexico Highway 536, taking you to the top which is two miles above sea level. The view

A bonus is when visitors to the overlook can get a glimpse of the rosy-finch, or the more common pink-sided junco.

Visitors to the overlook with find restrooms, a center/gift shop and several interpretive signs on the overlook area.
